Waste management for residential property

The law obliges municipalities to organise waste management within their areas. According to the Waste Act, all residential property, including leisure time property, must be part of the municipal waste management system.

About Kiertokapula Ltd

Within the area covered by the municipal waste company Kiertokapula Oy, Hattula, Hausjärvi, Hyvinkää, Hämeenlinna, Järvenpää, Kerava, Loppi, Mäntsälä, Riihimäki, Tuusula and Valkeakoski have agreed on the transportation of waste to Kiertokapula. Kiertokapula will also manage the waste management customer service for these municipalities.

The waste sorting obligation applies to all residential properties. Each property must have a collection bin for at least mixed/dry waste. Other usable fractions on small properties, such as paper, board, glass and metal should be delivered to collection points. Larger properties must have their own collection bins for recoverable waste.

The composting of bio and garden waste on properties is permitted and highly recommended. However, burning or burying waste in the property is strictly forbidden.

Only untreated pure wood, clean dry paper and cardboard are allowed to use in small quantities when heating a property.

You can order the emptying of waste bins from our customer service.

If you have any questions regarding waste management, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service.
